Summary Of Responsibilities
  1. Review and improve QC processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness at the project level.
  2. Ensure project QC documentation meets contractual requirements and assist with project preparation.
  3. Support QC staff in interpreting and applying standards, codes, and specifications.
  4. Coordinate with third-party and NDT companies as per project needs.
  5. Prepare, update, and manage production documents and fabrication data books.
  6. Monitor calibration of measuring equipment and report contract deviations.
  7. Oversee QC phases, inspections, and ensure compliance with reference documentation.
  8. Maintain quality control records and implement corrective actions when needed.
  9. Manage dimensional, visual, NDT, and corrosion protection inspections.
  10. Develop and coordinate procedure approvals.
  11. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
Profile
Knowledge
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Understanding of fabrication specifications, e.g., AWS D1.1 & ASME IX, B31.3
  • Familiarity with NDE methods (MT, PT, RT, UT) and reports
  • Understanding of fabrication processes, e.g., welding, cutting, rolling
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas, riser, and capital drilling equipment processes and operations
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • SAIW Level 2
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a QC Inspector in heavy engineering and piping fabrication workshops, focusing on QC/Welding inspection
  • Valid driver's license and own transport
