Job description

Pine Harvesting Supervisor position available in Greytown.

Our client in the forestry and farming sector seeks to employ an experienced (AA/EE) Pine Harvesting Supervisor for permanent employment based in Greytown.

Salary: Market-related from R5 000 – R8 000 per month (Negotiable on exp) + including free basic housing + Wi-Fi + electricity + water + overtime.

Start Date: Immediate preferred.

Type: Permanent Employment / EE/AA applicants only.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• PINE Harvesting Supervising experience essential (Not GUM or WATTLE) – PINE only!
• Basic mechanical experience & understanding on Stihl chainsaws.
• Knowledge of how chainsaw blades must be sharpened.
• Firefighting in Forestry or Farming.
• Admin & Record Keeping skills.
• Time management skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Production focused.
• Health and safety conscious.
• Will need to be able to drive a tractor that pulls the labour trailer.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Stihl chainsaw mechanical and sharpening experience.
• Speak & write English and Zulu.
• Experienced (1-3 years) AA/EE Applicants required.
• Firefighting skills.
• Good leadership skills.
• Good planning skills.
• Full-time Live-in Position in the supervisor compound.
• Required to work Standby & Overtime on occasions.
• Relevant drivers / tractor or other operating licence/s (adv) .
