Job description

Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing critical support to managing and leading team to achieve set Key Performance Indicators of the warehouse, take overall ownership of the Picking, Inbound, Outbound, Inventory & Transporting functions by supporting the planning and coordinating of daily operations in such a manner that the processes are performed effectively, timeously, and efficiently.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the picking team to ensure that products are selected and prepared for shipment according to customer orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure the picking process aligns with company standards for quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Continuously monitor picking accuracy to reduce errors and prevent product returns
  • Define and track performance metrics for picking operations, such as order accuracy, picking speed, and overall productivity.
  • Monitor team performance and adjust staffing or processes as needed to meet KPIs and deadlines.
  • Report on performance to senior management, providing insights into potential challenges and areas for improvement.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the picking process to optimize workflow, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement new technologies or systems (e.g., warehouse management systems or automated picking systems) to streamline operations.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve picking speed while maintaining accuracy and safety standard
  • Proactively identify and address challenges or bottlenecks in the picking process that may cause delays or inefficiencies.
  • Resolve any customer-related issues or internal complaints related to picking, ensuring timely and effective solutions

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12);
  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management is an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a warehouse supervisory or shift leadership role
  • Proven experience managing warehouse teams and daily operations
  • Solid understanding of warehouse procedures, safety regulations, and inventory processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, inventory or warehouse management systems)
  • Exposure to both Perishables & Dry goods sheds
