We Are Hiring: Piano Teacher (Independent Contractor)

Are you passionate about teaching music and inspiring the next generation of pianists? We are seeking a passionate and innovative piano teacher to develop and teach dynamic group and individual lessons.

Position: Piano Teacher (Independent Contractor)

Location: Travelling between our group of schools in Johannesburg

Start Date: Available immediately

Employment Type: Part-time and contract-based

Responsibilities:

1. Teach Piano lessons to students of various ages and skill levels on a one-on-one basis as well as in groups.
2. Develop engaging lesson plans tailored to individual and group learning styles.
3. Prepare students for performances, exams, and recitals.
4. Assist at all school events where the students will perform and be available to perform at special school events.
5. Foster a love for music while building strong technical skills.
6. Communicate effectively with parents and provide regular progress updates.
7. Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment.
8. Complete administrative tasks, including report writing and student evaluations.

Requirements:

1. Proficiency in playing and teaching piano.
2. A BMus degree, Teacher’s Licentiate, or Education qualification is advantageous.
3. SACE certification will be an advantage.
4. Previous teaching experience is mandatory.
5. Ability to work with students ranging from beginners to advanced.
6. Good working knowledge of MS Office and a willingness to learn the school system for report writing and other administrative tasks.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Passion for music and education.
9. Candidates must be suitable to fit in with the principles, ethos, and values of the various schools.

Contractor Details:

This is a contractor position, and you will invoice us for your services. You will be responsible for managing your own schedule and tax obligations. Competitive rates offered based on experience.
