Qualifications

• Mindestens 4 Jahre Erfahrung in der PHP-Anwendungsentwicklung in einer LAMP-Umgebung.
• Gute Kenntnisse in MySQL und Datenbankoptimierung.

Responsibilities

• Entwicklung neuer datenbankgestützter Webanwendungen und Webdienste.
• Fehlerbehebung von PHP-Anwendungen und Modifikationen bestehender Anwendungen.

Key Performance Areas

1. Development of new database-driven web applications and web services
2. Development of modifications and add-on modules to existing PHP applications
3. Troubleshooting of PHP applications
4. Good understanding of MySQL, databases, SQL queries, and query optimization
5. Ability to think laterally and find feasible, secure solutions under high pressure
6. Deliver exceptional quality of output with attention to detail
7. Adhere to best practices and standards
8. Be a self-starter who enjoys working with cutting-edge technology
9. Contribute meaningfully and work efficiently both independently and in a team

Required Skills/Experience

1. Minimum 3 years experience in Linux, Apache, MySQL administration
2. Minimum 4 years experience in PHP application development in a LAMP environment
3. Minimum 4 years experience in HTML & JavaScript
4. Minimum 2 years experience in Web Services development using SOAP, JSON, and XML
5. Minimum 1 year experience with jQuery and/or MooTools and/or YUI
6. Excellent organizational and analytical skills
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Factors

The following qualifications or experience are not essential but will be viewed favourably:

• Proficiency in C/C++, Asterisk, AGI, VoIP systems
• Experience working with MVC Frameworks (Laravel / Symfony / Zend)
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field
• Experience in Telecommunications
• Being a South African Citizen
