Job summary

Une pharmacie reconnue à Bloemfontein recherche un Phlebotomist pour rejoindre son équipe. Ce poste exige une personne avec une expérience solide en phlébotomie et un souci constant de la sécurité du patient. Vous serez responsable de la collecte de sang et d'autres spécimens, ainsi que de fournir des informations et des conseils aux patients. Ce rôle est essentiel pour garantir des soins patients sûrs et efficaces au sein d'une équipe pluridisciplinaire.

Qualifications

• Diplôme en soins infirmiers ou certification en phlébotomie requise.
• 1 à 2 ans d'expérience après qualification.
• Compétences en évaluation et conseils aux patients souhaitées.

Responsibilities

• Effectuer des procédures de prélèvement de sang conformément aux normes professionnelles.
• Conseiller les patients sur les procédures de prélèvement.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To draw blood, or other samples/specimens, from patients for various testing purposes in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Perform a variety of routine and complex blood and specimen collecting procedures in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements to ensure safe patient care
• Conduct pre-and post-test counselling to patients and family members, to explain blood draw procedures and answer any questions about the process
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety and follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a sterile work area
• Perform administrative tasks to ensure correct and accurate recording and processing of patient and clinical information
• Ensure that all utilised stock is accurately recorded and charged
• Build and maintain collaborative working relationships, as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the EC Unit
  
  

Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

• Registered/Enrolled Nurse, or Certification in Phlebotomy Technology
  
  

Required Experience

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 - 2 years’ experience after nursing/phlebotomy qualification

• Phlebotomy procedures
• Relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, clinical policies and procedures
• Patient assessment skills
• Patient counselling skills
• Risk identification
• Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols

• Basic life support trained
