Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a reputable Pharmacist for their Percelia store.
Your portfolio will cover the provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for patients' medicine-related needs, and being accountable for meeting these needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- BPharm / equivalent qualification
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Min 2-3 years experience in Pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy (Student / Intern)
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Advantageous:
- Relevant retail / FMCG experience
- Third additional language
- SAP experience
- E-scripting experience
- Registered tutor
- Unisolv experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provision of pharmaceutical care, including evaluating patient needs, dispensing medicines, signing off prescriptions, and providing advice on medicine use.
- Determining patient compliance, follow-up, and providing pharmacist-initiated therapy.
- Compounding, manufacturing, purchasing, and supervising medicines and scheduled substances.
- Applying for medicine registration, conducting pharmaceutical research, and promoting public health.
- Interpreting scripts, ensuring accurate data capture, and maintaining stock control.
- Providing patient instructions, following up on scripts, and managing medical aid claims.
- Ensuring administrative functions are completed correctly and stock levels are maintained.
Competencies:
- Strong command of English and a second language
- Good communication, customer service, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail, numerical skills, and computer literacy
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
Special Conditions:
- Registered with SAPC
- Willing to work retail hours, physically fit, hold a valid driver’s license, and have own transport
- Clear credit and criminal records
