Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a reputable Pharmacist for their Percelia store.

Your portfolio will cover the provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for patients' medicine-related needs, and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Essential:
• Grade 12 / Matric
• BPharm / equivalent qualification
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
• Min 2-3 years experience in Pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy (Student / Intern)
• Computer literate – MS Office
• Advantageous:
• Relevant retail / FMCG experience
• Third additional language
• SAP experience
• E-scripting experience
• Registered tutor
• Unisolv experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provision of pharmaceutical care, including evaluating patient needs, dispensing medicines, signing off prescriptions, and providing advice on medicine use.
• Determining patient compliance, follow-up, and providing pharmacist-initiated therapy.
• Compounding, manufacturing, purchasing, and supervising medicines and scheduled substances.
• Applying for medicine registration, conducting pharmaceutical research, and promoting public health.
• Interpreting scripts, ensuring accurate data capture, and maintaining stock control.
• Providing patient instructions, following up on scripts, and managing medical aid claims.
• Ensuring administrative functions are completed correctly and stock levels are maintained.

Competencies:

• Strong command of English and a second language
• Good communication, customer service, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail, numerical skills, and computer literacy
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively

Special Conditions:

• Registered with SAPC
• Willing to work retail hours, physically fit, hold a valid driver’s license, and have own transport
• Clear credit and criminal records
