Netcare invites you to be part of our journey. The Pharmacist Intern will provide medication and supplementary services to patients and members of the healthcare team, under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist.

The role aims to meet patients’ needs in a responsible, satisfactory and cost‑effective manner. This role covers dispensing, patient counseling on the usage and interactions of medicines, and participation in ward rounds.

Qualifications

• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council is required.
• B.Pharm degree is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescriptions under supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
• Counsel patients on usage, side effects, contraindications and storage of medications.
• Assist with oncologic and total parenteral nutrition medication handling.
• Assist with stock control and packaging of medicines.
• Support clinical ward rounds and pharmacovigilance activities.
