Job summary

Netcare invites you to contribute as a Pharmacist Intern, providing medications and supplementary services to patients and healthcare teams under supervision of a registered Pharmacist. You will help meet patients’ needs in a responsible, satisfactory and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities include dispensing prescriptions under supervision, advising on usage and interactions, assisting with oncology medications, stock control, and participation in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist intern role under supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
• Focus on patient care, medication safety, and cost-effective service.
• Engage in counselling on usage, side effects, interactions and storage of medicines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dispensing prescriptions under supervision and proper capture.
• Advise patients and healthcare team on medication usage, side effects and interactions.
• Support oncology and chemotherapy medication handling per policy and procedures.
• Assist with stock control, repacking and distribution of medicines.
• Participate in pharmacovigilance, audits, and quality assurance activities.
