Function Pharmacy Facility Position Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic | FTC Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant based at Life Entabeni Hospital for a fixed term contract. This position reports to the Senior Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality pharmaceutical services, professional supply of medication to patients, wards and theatre and the procurement and handling of ethical and surgical stock.

Critical Outputs
  • Processing of inpatient prescriptions and credits
  • Perform duties as per scope of practice including dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist as prescribed by SAPC.
  • Issuing of ward stock to Wards and Theatre
  • Replenishment of the afterhours cupboard
  • Perform cycle counts and quarterly stock takes including variance investigation
  • Administrative functions
  • Procurement of stock
  • Effective stock management as per stock management principles
Requirements
  • Qualification as Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant and registered with SAPC
  • Hospital Pharmacy Experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical legislation and framework
  • Pharmaceutical product knowledge
  • Computer proficiency
