About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and meticulous Pharmaceutical Microbiologist to join their quality control laboratory in Upington. This role is essential for ensuring the microbiological safety and quality of pharmaceutical products by conducting a variety of environmental and product testing. You will be responsible for performing microbial identification, sterility testing, and environmental monitoring to detect and prevent microbial contamination. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of microbiological techniques, sterile processing, and regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical industry, contributing to the overall quality assurance of manufactured medicines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products according to established methods and pharmacopoeial standards.
• Conduct environmental monitoring of manufacturing cleanrooms, including air sampling, surface sampling, and personnel monitoring.
• Perform sterility testing of sterile products and monitor growth promotion of microbiological media.
• Identify and characterize microbial isolates, conducting investigations into any contamination events.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, documenting all testing procedures, results, and deviations.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and relevant microbiological guidelines.

Requirements
