Our client, a renowned pharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Formulations Scientist to join their R&D team in Centurion, Gauteng. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing drug formulations across oral, parenteral, and topical delivery systems in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD or MSc with at least 4 years of hands-on formulation development experience, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with FDA/EMA guidelines.

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Strong understanding of drug delivery principles, excipient science, and solid dosage form technology.
• Experience with analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, dissolution testing, DSC, TGA).
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA) pertaining to formulation development and stability.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop pharmaceutical formulations for oral, parenteral, and topical drug delivery systems.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including physicochemical characterization of APIs.
• Evaluate and select excipients to achieve desired release profiles and bioavailability.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for formulation performance and stability.
• Perform stability studies according to ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and optimize existing formulations for manufacturability.
• Collaborate with process development teams to scale up from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
• Prepare documentation, including development reports and regulatory submission documents.
• Stay abreast of scientific advancements in pharmaceutical formulation and drug delivery.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary R&D team.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
