Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative and experienced Petroleum Geologist to join its exploration team in a remote-first operating model. You will interpret geological data to identify potential hydrocarbon resources and develop regional models, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the globe to drive exploration success.

The role requires a strong subsurface geology background, 6+ years in petroleum exploration, and proficiency with Petrel and Kingdom Suite.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology or Geophysics.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in petroleum exploration geology.
• Proficiency with geological software and interpretation tools (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of sedimentary basins, structural geology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Excellent analytical skills, ability to integrate diverse datasets, and strong communication capabilities.
• Experience working effectively in a remote collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to delineate potential oil and gas reservoirs.
• Develop regional and prospect-level geological models and contribute to subsurface mapping.
• Identify drilling targets and recommend exploration strategies based on geological assessments.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers throughout the exploration lifecycle.
