Job summary

Potchefstroom-based dealership seeks a qualified Diagnostic Technician specialising in petrol passenger and light commercial vehicles. This is a senior technical role; you will be the workshop's go-to person for difficult electrical and electronic faults, using OEM diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams to find and fix problems others can't.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a diagnostic technician in a franchised dealership.
• Advanced auto-electrical and electronic diagnostic skills on modern petrol vehicles.
• Confident using OEM diagnostic software and reading wiring diagrams.

• Diagnose and repair complex engine management, electrical and electronic faults on petrol vehicles.
• Use OEM diagnostic equipment, scan tools, oscilloscopes and wiring diagrams to trace faults.
• Fix intermittent faults, CAN-bus/network faults and module programming issues.
• Do software updates, coding and module replacements to manufacturer procedures.
• Handle technical come-backs and support other technicians on difficult jobs.
• Carry out services, repairs and pre-delivery inspections when needed.
• Complete job cards, fault reports and warranty documentation accurately.
• Meet productivity and quality targets and follow workshop safety standards.

• Use OEM diagnostic equipment, scan tools, oscilloscopes and wiring diagrams to trace faults
• Fix intermittent faults, CAN-bus/network faults and module programming issues

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• At least 3 years of experience as a diagnostic technician in a franchised dealership
• Advanced auto-electrical and electronic diagnostic skills on modern petrol vehicles
• Confident using OEM diagnostic software and reading wiring diagrams

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Toyota dealership experience (strongly preferred)
• Toyota Diagnostic or Master Technician certification
• Hybrid vehicle exposure and high-voltage safety training
• Warranty and DMS experience
• Lives in or near Potchefstroom, or willing to relocate
