Placements24 is seeking a Petrochemical Plant Engineer to join the Richards Bay operation in KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on process optimization, troubleshooting, and safety/compliance within a state-of-the-art facility.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in petrochemical plant operations, a chemical engineering degree, and hands-on experience with process simulation tools. A strong safety focus and teamwork are essential, with potential shift duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a petrochemical or chemical plant operating environment.
• Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• PSM, process safety management knowledge and practices.
• Experience troubleshooting complex industrial processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and analyze plant performance data for optimal production output and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems and equipment malfunctions.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency and product quality.
• Ensure adherence to SHE regulations and company policies.
• Participate in PHAs and implement recommended actions.
• Assist in managing plant shutdowns, turnarounds and maintenance.
• Conduct root cause analyses for incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations and management to achieve plant objectives.
• Oversee implementation of new technologies and process modifications.
• Maintain accurate plant records and documentation.
