My client, based in Johannesburg, is currently seeking a Petrochemical Industry Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide dynamic leadership for the business unit to ensure a motivated and committed workforce.
- Show strong operational leadership.
- Build and maintain collaboration and teamwork across all areas and operations within the group.
- Develop and implement the vision, mission, and values for the petrochemical business, including its suppliers, customers, and staff, to ensure long-term market leadership.
- Develop and execute individual product and principal business strategies, budgets, cash flows, people development, and succession plans.
- Drive long-term sales, customer satisfaction, and bottom-line growth proactively, creatively, and sustainably.
- Identify business risks, develop responses, and manage risk mitigation.
- Plan and direct regional and customer activities to achieve targets related to performance, quality, ethics, culture, and legislative compliance.
- Oversee the performance of various product lines via cohesive regional teams, reinforcing ethical organizational philosophy and corporate culture, in line with MD directives.
- Develop and maintain values and reputation for ethical leadership with all market players, including customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Report to the MD on business strategies, plans, performance, and future opportunities, including capital and operational expenditures.
- Build alliances, partnerships, and networks to support long-term viability and growth.
- Execute responsibilities in compliance with lawful requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
- A Chemistry Engineering degree or diploma, preferably in the petrochemical sector.
- Additional qualifications such as an MBA or Business Management certification are an advantage.
- At least 7 years of experience in the chemical supply field, with 5 years in petrochemical ingredient leadership.
- Proven track record of growing sales and understanding of bottom-line impact.
