Job summary

Tsebo Cleaning and Hygiene Solutions in Durban is seeking a Pest Control Operator and Gas Fumigator to join our talent pool. The role covers site inspections, fumigation prep and execution, and certifying compliance with safety standards.

The successful candidate will be registered as a PCO, licensed for gas fumigation, and medically fit to handle pesticides. 2–3 years of pest control experience and strong client communication are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Registered Pest Control Operator (PCO) in terms of Act 36 of 1947.
• Licensed to perform gas fumigation in the applicable category.
• Medically fit to work with pesticides and fumigants.
• Minimum 2-3 years' pest control and fumigation experience.
• Understand detailed Pest control principles and company policies.
• Strong on client relationships and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a quality inspection and treatment service to exceed customer expectations.
• Inspect buildings and premises for signs of pests or infestation.
• Determine the type of treatment needed to eliminate pests.
• Apply pesticides in and around buildings and other structures.
• Conduct site inspections and perform risk assessments prior to fumigation
• Prepare and seal fumigation areas to ensure gas-tight environments
• Apply fumigants according to manufacturer guidelines and legal standards
• Monitor gas levels throughout the fumigation process
• Ensure treatment areas remain restricted to authorised personnel only
• Aerate treated areas and confirm gas-free status before re-entry
• Issue fumigation and clearance certificates upon completion
• Use only approved and registered fumigation chemicals
• Ensure all chemicals have valid SDS documentation and L-numbers
• Store chemicals safely in secure and ventilated areas
• Prevent contamination by avoiding mixing incompatible substances

Qualifications

• Minimum Matric.
• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of legislation relevant to the Pest control industry.
• Registered and up to date PCO number.
• Valid driver's license (advantageous)
• 3-5-year pest elimination qualification preferred.
