Role Description – Personal Lines Underwriter

This is a full-time on-site role for a Personal Lines Underwriter.

The Personal Lines Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting applications, determining risks, making decisions on behalf of the insurance company as per their wordings and underwriting mandates. The Personal Lines Underwriter will also be responsible for assisting more senior underwriters and managing team workflow.

  • Issuing new policies, renewals and endorsements on CIMS - Cardinal 360.
  • Prepare new quotations.
  • Negotiating renewal terms and preparing the renewal documentation.
  • Engagement with brokers to follow up on quotations and handling any queries.
  • Policy retentions.
  • Refunds.
  • Electronic documentation upload.
  • Ensuring efficient workflow in line with Rodel's policies and operational procedures.
  • Must be able to time manage, handle stress and work under pressure.
  • Adherence to company values, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Customer service orientation and diplomacy in handling complex client situations.
