Job Opening: Personal Lines Underwriter

Our client based in Cape Town is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter with at least 3 years of experience in a client services environment and who is FAIS compliant.

Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in a client services environment
  • 3 years of experience as a Personal Lines Underwriter
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • RE5 certification (non-negotiable)
  • FAIS compliance (credits and/or full qualification)
Key Responsibilities
  • Meet new business and binder fee targets
  • Retain existing clients and ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Minimize general expenses
  • Maintain accurate and professional communication with stakeholders (clients, AEs, insurers)
  • Build and sustain beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage client portfolios, conduct risk assessments, and analyze client needs
  • Request, obtain, and evaluate quotes from insurers; rate policies
  • Handle policy endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and refunds
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company mandates
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and report any suspicious activities
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and uphold company values
  • Engage in continuous self-development and team knowledge sharing
Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 16:30
