The Role:
As a Permanent Recruitment Consultant, youll play a key role in building long-term clientrelationships and placing top talent into permanent positions across various sectors. You will beresponsible for sourcing, qualifying, and managing candidates throughout the hiring lifecycle, whilealso driving business development efforts to expand our client base. This role is client-facing anddelivery-driven, with a strong focus on quality placements and repeat business.
You will work closely with internal teams including resourcers, marketing, and compliance to ensuresmooth processes and excellent service. While most of our clients are based in the UK, we alsoservice other English-speaking markets such as the US and Australia.
Core Purpose:
- Acquire and manage client accounts for permanent recruitment services
- Identify, engage, and place qualified candidates into long-term roles
- Deliver exceptional service that results in client retention and repeat business
The responsibilities of this role include:
Business Development and Client Acquisition
- Generate new business through outbound calls, networking, and referrals
- Conduct discovery calls and client meetings to understand hiring needs
- Prepare and deliver tailored recruitment proposals and pricing
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of client leads
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients
- Provide consultative support on hiring strategies, market trends, and job specs
- Regularly follow up with clients on role progress, feedback, and satisfaction
- Negotiate terms and manage expectations professionally
Collaboration with Internal Teams
- Liaise with resourcers and delivery consultants to align on role briefs
- Work with marketing to promote roles through the right channels
- Coordinate with compliance and onboarding teams to ensure smooth placements
Placement and Sales Administration
- Write and post accurate, engaging job adverts
- Screen, interview, and shortlist candidates
- Manage the interview process and offer negotiation
- Update CRM systems with candidate and client activity
Experience & Skills:
- 2-3 years experience in a recruitment role
- Experience with ATS or CRM platforms (you know your way around tech tools)
- Exceptional attention to detail, you catch the small stuff others miss
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines like a pro
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Experience with job boards , PNet, Executive Placements, Career24 or Career Junction (Advantageous)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- 4 new client contracts signed each month
- 25 candidates submitted to clients for open roles per month
- 15 candidates interviewed by clients for open roles each month
- 5 Billable placements monthly
- Revenue of R150k/month
Compensation and Incentives:
Base Salary:
- Average monthly base salary: R25,000R35,000, with room for higher compensation basedon experience and performance.
Commission:
- The team member shall qualify to receive a commission of 10% of the placement fee forsuccessful permanent placements up to ZAR150,000 in a month.
