Marsh has a fantastic opportunity for a Short Term Insurance Broker to join our team in the Johannesburg office.

The position offers an exciting challenge and career opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience within Short Term insurance, looking to join an established broking team within a market-leading insurance broker.

This is a full-time role, and you must be able to attend the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Provide broking services
• Attend strategy and renewal meetings
• Prepare and finalize broking documentation
• Identify and select appropriate markets
• Distribute broking notes to the market
• Negotiate with markets for the best deals
• Implement placement strategy on high complexity accounts
• Collate market terms and quotes for client submission
• Prepare placing slips and obtain market confirmation of cover
• Confirm final placement, changes, and endorsements
• Work with the operations team to issue policy schedules
• Prepare other broking documentation as required

Minimum requirements:

• Experience in short term, commercial, or corporate insurance broking
• FAIS and CPD compliance
• Knowledge of risk management principles
• Certificate in Insurance or studying towards AIISA (advantage)
• Insurer relationships (advantage)
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of insurance legislation
• Excellent communication skills in English and local language

Preferred:

• RE 05 (Representatives Exam) – Passed (not essential)
