This role will be responsible for ensuring that services identified as at risk are brought up to standard as quickly as possible. It involves troubleshooting, advising, and potentially managing services where there is no current manager, supporting new managers, or overseeing existing managers in a supportive or performance management role.
This pivotal role supports operational colleagues with managerial shortfalls, focusing on identifying issues and leading actions to resolve them.
Peripatetic Manager
Location: National (London, Kent, Surrey, East Sussex)
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 DOE Plus Car Allowance

Key Activities
To act as a peripatetic manager supporting services in need, managing services and coordinating with Service Improvement Managers to enhance services and meet regulatory, contractual, and compliance requirements.
To work with care homes and services to ensure best practice, compliance, and high standards through quality assurance practices.
Collaborate with the Head of Quality to identify solutions for at-risk services.
Develop and implement service improvement plans with Operational Managers, leading their execution and providing ongoing support to ensure compliance and progress.
Ensure all staff understand and are engaged in service improvements.
Establish systems to monitor progress, achieve targets, and meet deadlines.
Mentor and coach staff to sustain improvements.
Identify and coordinate necessary resources.
Rebuild relationships with external stakeholders and integrate management teams.
Provide regular reports on service progress and compliance to the Head of Quality.
Monitor safety and welfare practices for children and vulnerable adults, reporting urgent issues promptly.
Conduct investigations as required, working with stakeholders to develop and monitor remedial actions.
Promote the corporate quality assurance agenda.
Ensure compliance with statutory visit and reporting regulations, communicating issues to senior management.
Experience
Management experience leading teams without direct line management, preferably in LD/Social Care.
Strong understanding of the regulatory environment.
Experience in emergency management, stabilizing services in crisis, and turnaround projects.
Proven investigator, planner, and implementer skills.
