Job description

Job Title: HR / People Practitioner – Enterprise Division

Location: Cape Town

Reports to: HR Business Partner – Enterprise Division

Type: Full-time

Mode: Hybrid (4 days in, 1 days out)

Job Purpose

The HR/People Practitioner will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations for the Enterprise Division. Reporting to the HRBP, the practitioner will act as an operational enabler in delivering key HR services across the employee lifecycle—from recruitment, onboarding, and payroll input to compliance and people experience. This role will work closely with the HRBP to deliver scalable HR solutions, build future-fit talent pipelines, and drive compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment operations, including requisition setup, job posting, CV screening, interview coordination, and offers.
  • Source high-calibre tech and business talent using direct sourcing, pipeline building, and LinkedIn search techniques.
  • Partner with the HRBP and Hiring Managers to deliver quality hires aligned with workforce plans.
  • Drive employer branding and inclusive sourcing strategies that align with Lesaka’s DEI goals and transformation agenda.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date pipeline tracking in the ATS (e.g., Simplify), with regular reporting to HRBP on hiring metrics.

Employee Lifecycle & HR Administration

  • Administer HR processes for a workforce of ~200 employees, including onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts, changes, and SharePoint file maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with the administration of disciplinary processes, performance management cycles, and employee development initiatives in partnership with the HRBP.
  • Provide timely payroll input for new hires, changes, and offboarding, and coordinate benefits administration (medical aid, pension, etc.) with Group Payroll.

Compliance, B-BBEE & Skills Development

  • Ensure adherence to labour legislation, employment equity, and company policies.
  • Support the execution of Lesaka’s B-BBEE strategy, including:
  • Administering Skills Development initiatives (tracking, documentation, SETA/EE alignment).
  • Coordinating learnerships/internships and contributing to spend tracking and vendor management.
  • Collating evidence for B-BBEE audits, working closely with HRBP and Finance.

Contribute to the Employment Equity process by supporting the collation of EE data, scheduling EE Committee meetings, and ensuring alignment with set targets.

People Experience & Culture

  • Ensure an optimal employee experience through efficient onboarding, support, and consistent employee engagement.
  • Assist with wellness, culture, and team experience initiatives that promote belonging and collaboration.

Process Optimization & Reporting

  • Support the automation and digitalization of People processes and tools.
  • Maintain HR documentation and templates to ensure operational consistency in Confluence.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of headcount, attrition, recruitment, and compliance stats for business and HRBP visibility.
  • Monitor HR process effectiveness and suggest improvements to enhance speed, quality, and compliance.

Health, Safety & Operational Support

  • Support a safe and compliant workplace in collaboration with Facilities and SHE officers.

Who We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of HR generalist experience in a dynamic or high-growth environment.
  • Strong recruiting expertise, especially in technical and digital talent sourcing.
  • Solid working knowledge of:
  • Labour laws and employee relations processes.
  • B-BBEE and Employment Equity frameworks.
  • Skills Development planning, reporting, and alignment to SETA requirements.

Proficiency in HRIS, ATS (e.g., Simplify), and payroll inputs.Strong administrative skills, detail orientation, and ability to handle confidential data responsibly.Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.Self-motivated, organised, and solutions-focused, with a strong sense of accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
  • Training or certification in B-BBEE, EE compliance, or Labour Relations will be a strong advantage.
  • Experience using digital tools for Project Management (Atlassian, Jira, Confluence) HR reporting, recruitment, or compliance audits.
