People Development & Compliance Specialist
Senior HR Role
A highly respected organisation in the education and training sector is seeking a People Development & Compliance Specialist to drive high-impact HR initiatives aligned with employee experience, compliance, and strategic development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR professional who thrives on shaping people culture, supporting employee wellness, and ensuring regulatory excellence. The role offers the chance to lead key programmes such as onboarding, performance management, EE reporting, skills development, and BBBEE compliance – all while nurturing a people-first culture.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead employee onboarding , engagement , and offboarding with a strong focus on inclusivity and well-being.
Oversee performance management processes , including probation tracking, appraisals, and development planning.
Ensure compliance with HR statutory reporting , including Employment Equity and Skills Development submissions.
Develop and implement Skills Development strategies, including WSP / ATR submissions and learnership / internship programmes (YES initiatives).
Coordinate and manage BBBEE HR elements , including Management Control and Skills Development contributions.
Support the employee wellness agenda by implementing well-being initiatives and promoting a safe and supportive environment.
Maintain the Training Hub , ensuring all training schedules, records, and qualifications are accurately tracked and compliant.
Collaborate closely with the broader HR team and management to align people strategies with business objectives.
The Ideal Candidate :
Holds a postgraduate degree in HR Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field (preferred).
Has 5–8 years’ progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on compliance, employee development, and reporting.
Is a registered Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) with hands-on experience using the Services SETA portal .
Brings in-depth knowledge of EE reporting , skills development compliance , and BBBEE HR elements .
Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage employees at all levels with empathy and authority.
Possesses solid HRIS skills and advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data tracking and reporting.
Has a proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sandton .
Flexible work may be required at times, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on operational needs.
