We’re looking for an experienced People Development & Compliance Specialist to lead critical people initiatives and ensure compliance excellence within a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Head of HR and soon supported by an HR Administrator, you will be instrumental in shaping a positive employee experience through structured onboarding, performance management, professional development, and wellness initiatives. Your role will also focus on HR compliance, statutory reporting, and ensuring all training-related activities are effectively managed through the organisation’s Training Hub.

This position sits at the intersection of strategy, compliance, and employee care—perfect for someone who thrives on making a real impact in people’s lives and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive employee engagement and seamless onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Support and guide line managers through probation and performance management.
  • Oversee Employment Equity (EE) and Skills Development compliance and reporting (EEA2, EEA4, WSP, ATR).
  • Manage HR aspects of BBBEE, YES initiatives, learnerships, and internships.
  • Champion employee well-being and implement impactful wellness programmes.
  • Maintain and manage HRIS for accurate employment equity and skills tracking.
  • Lead the operation of the Training Hub to ensure timely, accurate, and accessible records of all internal learning activities.
Who You Are:

You’re more than just a compliance specialist — you’re a culture builder. You bring:

  • Empathy and trustworthiness that make people feel safe and supported.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate policies and encourage employee voice.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • A deep passion for employee development, wellness, and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across departments while influencing positive change.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
  • A strategic, yet people-first approach to HR.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–8 years' progressive HR experience with expertise in people development and compliance.
  • Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) certification is essential.
  • Proven experience with Employment Equity reporting, Skills Development submissions (WSP & ATR), and BBBEE scorecard elements.
  • Solid working knowledge of HRIS systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated success in managing onboarding, performance, and wellness programmes.
