Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a People & Culture Projects Lead to join the Head Office team. The purpose of the role is to lead the successful delivery of strategic P&C initiatives through structured project management and agile delivery methodologies. Orchestrates complex project workflows, managing interdependencies, and driving outcomes that enhance employee experience, operational agility, and organizational effectiveness. This role is responsible for integrating cross-functional P&C capabilities, enabling digital innovation, and ensuring alignment with business priorities.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management / Industrial Psychology / Business Administration
  • 4 - 7 years’ experience in HR, Project Management, or related roles, with at least 3 years in HR project delivery
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) and working on PM Tools such as Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Trello
  • Strong understanding of People & Culture functional areas: Talent, OD, Learning, Performance, Total Rewards, ER/IR
  • Strong exposure to People & Culture programme transformation projects and ability to lead cross-functional teams in matrix organizations and manage stakeholders at various levels

Key Responsibilities...

People & Culture Project Management:

  • Translate P&C strategic objectives into product backlogs, epics, user stories, and sprint deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, charters, and risk registers.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of multiple P&C deliverables and identify and pull in P&C expertise (e.g., Talent, Learning, OD, Employee Relations, Rewards).

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management:

  • Translate complex P&C and technical deliverables into business-facing communication for managers and employees.
  • Collaborate with the Change, Culture and internal Communications team to support change readiness, adoption and engagement.

Governance, Compliance and Risk:

  • Ensure all P&C project activities adhere to internal governance protocols, labour legislation, and data privacy laws (POPIA, BCEA, LRA).

Solutions Delivery & Sustainability:

  • Ensure a smooth transition of project outcomes to P&C functional teams, including system/process ownership and SOP documentation.
