Job summary

iMedrecruit is seeking a Medical Officer to provide clinical support in both hospital and outpatient paediatric settings in the Eastern Cape. The position is available full-time or for an initial six-month period with possible extension.

You will work closely with a Paediatric Pulmonologist and assist with assessment, management and ongoing care of paediatric patients. This role suits a Medical Officer with paediatric experience or an interest in paediatrics, who is comfortable in a busy

Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
• Current registration with the HPCSA.
• Experience as a Medical Officer is desirable.
• Paediatric experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct paediatric assessments and consultations under appropriate clinical supervision.
• Attend to paediatric patients in hospital and assist with their ongoing management.
• Assist with outpatient consultations and follow-up care.
• Monitor patients and provide continuity of care.
• Develop and implement management plans in consultation with the treating specialist.
• Liaise with parents and caregivers regarding patients' conditions and treatment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
• Work collaboratively with the Paediatric Pulmonologist and practice team.
