Payroll Specialist

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Payroll Specialist ensures that group payroll processes and daily payroll operations are administered and supported correctly and efficiently. The incumbent will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders regarding reconciliations and payroll payments.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support and supervise the payroll administrators with daily payroll operations per country.
• Manage all payroll processing tasks daily and escalate challenges to the Payroll Manager.
• Review all payroll hours imported for monthly and weekly payrolls via the employee clocking system, UKG Dimensions.
• Assist Group Finance with all payroll reporting requests for month-end, annual and payroll audit timelines, taking ownership of payroll accounting deliverables in the team.
• Review weekly leave integration with UKG Dimensions & Sage 300 Payroll.
• Review all payroll payments and submit them to the Payroll Manager for final approval.
• Review all reconciliations and store splits for 3rd-party payments andNet Pay.
• Process all payroll journals and submit them to Group Finance weekly as per the Monday.com task allocations for all countries.
• Responsible for Paymenow Deduction Bulk and Reconciliation Process.
• Supervise and review all payroll corrections via Monday.com and FreshServices portal.
• Maintain and review payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting necessary changes.
• Supervise the monthly Group Tax Validation Process; all mandatory master data must be up-to-date.
• Assist the Payroll Managerwith ad-hoc duties and projects.
• Take ownership of all SAGE 300 system reviews and escalate any anomalies to the payroll manager.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, overseeing a large payroll.
• SAGE 300 People experience.
• Knowledge and experience in African country payroll administration and payroll accounting.
• Experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft, especially Excel.
• Experienceof a migration from one payroll into Sage 300 People
