Job description

Package & Remuneration:

Salary: R80 000 - R85 000 CTC per month

The Payroll Product Owner will drive the activation and utilization of all Labournet clients on the Labournet Payroll platform.

Including but not limited to:

Core metrics:

  1. Activation
  2. SAAS Retainer Sales
  3. Payroll Client Retention
  4. Landscape & Roadmap
  5. Implementation of the PDLC

Core responsibilities:

Product Sales:

  • Develop a landscape and roadmap for payroll that aligns with the MTP of LabourNet
  • Conduct market research including business environment, industry, competitors, customers, channels, and product.
  • Determine the size of our total addressable market/s and the size of our market share per product.
  • Develop long-term strategies and annual plans to increase our product market share (nationally and regionally) and grow our markets (where necessary), in conjunction with the National Payroll Product Manager
  • Participate in various marketing forums as our product opinion leader nationally to promote product growth.

Product Development:

  • Establish, implement, and run the Payroll Steerco’s.
  • Create and implement a consolidated roadmap with all relevant stakeholders
  • In conjunction with relevant stakeholders, determine the prioritization of the consolidated roadmap.
  • Determine pricing strategies for products with the assistance of the CFO, CPO, and the National Payroll Product Manager.

Payroll Development and Delivery:

  • Lead and participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
  • Continuously monitor the progress of development efforts, addressing any roadblocks or issues that may arise.
  • Deliver high-quality, user-centric features that meet customer needs and deliver value to the organization.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to define testing strategies and ensure the product meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Conduct thorough testing of new features and bug fixes to verify their functionality before release.
  • Be the first user of the LabourNet platform and ensure internal use first.

Client Success and Advocacy:

  • Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure a smooth onboarding process and continued client satisfaction post-implementation.
  • Ensure that internal training is provided to the Support & Implementation team for all new releases.
  • Manage the change management process internally.
  • Assist the National Payroll Product Managers with change management processes for clients for all new releases.
  • Encourage client advocacy and gather testimonials and success stories to showcase the platform's positive impact.

Feedback Collection and Analysis:

  • Follow the PDLC process to ensure adequate input from the current client base.
  • Gather feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and end-users to understand their experiences and identify areas for improvement via regular user groups.
  • Analyse data and metrics related to platform usage to make data-driven decisions and track the product's success.

Data Analytics:

  • Provide meaningful trend analysis from the data gathered from the Support & Implementation teams, which results in key development to improve client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provide meaningful dashboards on the following:
  • Growth in the number of users
  • Growth in the number of companies
  • Growth in the number of products per company
  • Growth in SAAS Revenue
  • System utilization (per module)
  • Trends
  • Provide meaningful adoption stats after the roll-out of the new development.
  • Provide meaningful monitoring stats of the overall usage of the system.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience required:

  • 2 years of experience as a Product Owner in a Software Development environment.
  • 3-5 years of Payroll Processing experience
  • Concrete experience in the following:
  • Product Development.
  • Commercialization of a Product.
  • Successful launch of a product into the market.
  • Experience in drafting strategic operational plans.
  • Experience in budget and target setting.
  • Experience in conducting competitor analysis and compiling value propositions.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in the respective field of product or a degree in Business Management-related fields is advantageous.
  • An advanced qualification in a Management/Leadership-related field would be advantageous.
