We are looking for a Payroll Manager M / F based in South Africa.

Job Description:

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced and qualified Payroll Manager to join CFAO Holdings South Africa.

This is a permanent, locally based position in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll function, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.

Requested Profile:

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification and/or relevant payroll-related qualification is essential.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll taxes, experience with monthly and bi-annual submissions, and handling tax queries.
  • Solid financial acumen and proficiency in SAP accounting software.
  • Knowledge of employment equity and experience with Sage 300 People Payroll software and its modules, including ESS. Certified Sage 300 People Consultant preferred.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax legislation, employment conditions, bargaining councils, and related legislation.
  • Experience handling expat payroll.
  • Extensive knowledge of PAYE, SDL, UIF, WCA, and RMA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Optimizing payroll processes and controls, including automation and streamlining.
  • Leading and motivating the payroll team.
  • Regular audits of payroll systems and compliance with legislation.
  • Ensuring accurate payments through payroll reviews.
  • Implementing remuneration policies and benchmarking best practices.
  • Reporting obligations, including statutory, HR, finance, and payroll reports.
  • Developing and reviewing remuneration and employee benefits policies.
  • Managing projects, surveys, and reporting related to payroll and remuneration.
  • Providing guidance on remuneration and benefits matters.
  • Managing retirement funds, insured benefits, and medical aid schemes.
  • Maintaining remuneration and benefits systems.
  • Handling e-filing, WCA submissions, and payroll administration reconciliations.
  • Managing payroll-related tax submissions and SARS queries.
  • Assisting with payroll year-end processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Managing bursary processing and reconciliation.
  • Preparing annual reports for Paris and STATS SA submissions.
  • Handling bonus, increase schedules, and leave provisions.
  • Coordinating with auditors and labor departments.
