À completed B.Com (Accounting) degree is essential, with a post-graduate qualification in Tax highly advantageous, coupled with 10+ years related experience in Payroll and Tax / Accounting.
KPI's include :
Manage and process payroll taxes by deducting and paying taxes from employees' compensation and requesting tax directives; paying tax according to appropriate deductions made from compensation.
Calculate and pay the tax liabilities according to the compensation and tax regulations of employees.
Filing EMP201s with SARS and conducting reconciliations to ensure payroll integrity, including payroll, GL account, banking, UIF, and SDL PAYE reconciliations.
Manage financial postings by understanding accounting structures and codes; vendor payments, payments to UIF, and clearing 3rd party vendor accounts.
Reporting on payroll information, including leave & bonus provisions, allowances, fixed expenses, and outstanding tax amounts.
Submitting statutory declarations and COIDA reports; operate controls and monitor compliance with internal controls policies and procedures.
Monitor control effectiveness and remediate control deficiencies.
Implement and maintain technologies and tools to enable the internal controls-related activities; filing and e-filing of payroll control documents for audit compliance.
Manage complex enquiries where management and employees require clarification.
Supervise system performance and evaluate the performance of payroll processes.
Provide training to process owners and measure and report the performance of the payroll system.
Manage employee performance, employee development, and employee relations by assisting management in developing, maintaining, and improving employee relationships.
Ensure that all relevant documents and month-end reports are filed according to relevant legislation.
Responsible for comprehensive and integrated reports to the Operations.
Ensure that external auditing processes are successfully executed.
Prepare data for and ensure accurate submissions for Employment Equity and Stats SA reporting.
Assist with any accounting duties as and when required; perform ad hoc duties as and when required.
