Job Title: Payroll Data and Systems Analyst

Location: Johannesburg

Division: Group Payroll

Reports to: Manager Payroll

Job Purpose

Positron seeks qualified candidates for the Payroll Data and Systems Analyst role to ensure the smooth operation, security, integrity, and compliance of payroll data and systems through effective analysis and process implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Employee Master Data Management: Maintain organizational hierarchy, map data across systems, clean data, liaise on system upgrades, and ensure data security.
  2. System Management: Act as super user, manage system performance and user access, collaborate on upgrades, and resolve system issues promptly.
  3. Reporting & Documentation: Extract and distribute reports, develop dashboards, and provide relevant metrics and trend analyses.
  4. Payroll Administration Support: Update payroll inputs, run timecards, handle queries, calculate adjustments, and distribute payslips.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3-5 years of payroll and data/system management experience.
  • Diploma in finance or related field.
  • Knowledge of system administration, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
  • Proficiency in reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, especially Synerion.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, initiative, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure.
