About the Role
Payroll Consultant for a group of companies in the travel industry with a focus on payroll processing and accounting for South African entities as well as working with the Financial Manager and HR Executives within the group for HR and payroll reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Commission
Responsible for end-to-end commission management, including accurate calculation, processing, reporting, and payment of commissions to staff and contractors, resolving related queries, ensuring correct GL allocations, and coordinating approvals and releases with relevant stakeholders.
Payroll
Oversee the full payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, correct GL and cost centre allocations, capturing changes in SAGE 300 People, reconciling staff loans and incentives, publishing payslips, resolving payroll queries, and processing month-end salary journals in line with accounting records.
Company benefits management
Manage company benefits across all South African payroll entities, including monthly reconciliations of medical aid, retirement, and pension contributions, processing payments, and coordinating with brokers on benefit-related matters.
Statutory submissions and filing with the relevant governing body
Manage all statutory payroll submissions and filings, including monthly (EMP201), bi-annual (IRP5), and annual (EMP501) reconciliations on SARS eFiling, WCA Return of Earnings, CATHSETA reporting, and UIF documentation in collaboration with HR.
GL Management
Oversee GL management by processing accurate and timely monthly payroll-related journals, performing reconciliations for payroll liabilities and accruals, and reviewing balance sheet accounts with supporting schedules to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Payroll and HR Reporting
Maintain and update accurate and timely HR and payroll reports monthly, ensuring data integrity and relevance for effective decision-making.
