Job description

Position Summary: We are seeking a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator, ideally with business management and/or financial management experience, to join our team of dedicated professionals.

This position can be based out of Century City on a hybrid basis.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Provide administrative support to Sr. Payroll & Benefits Manager by preparing daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and quarterly reports.
  2. Monitor payroll ticketing system and process requests to correct timesheet errors, making manual adjustments and corrections.
  3. Ensure labor law compliance by reviewing mean and rest break data and compiling necessary meal waiver forms.
  4. Assist in manual check preparations, including final checks, severance pay, and bonuses.
  5. Coordinate with HR regarding employee changes in payroll (e.g., terminations, new hires).
  6. Conduct benefit meetings with employees and assist with health, dental, life, and other benefit claims.
  7. Administer COBRA and review/respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
  8. Assist with leave of absence administration and complete employment verification inquiries from outside agencies.
  9. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role and a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Multi-state payroll experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable labor laws and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Concur, and Workday.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to act in a confidential capacity.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a non-exempt, overtime-eligible position (hourly). The annualized base pay range is expected to be between $59,000 and $68,000. Actual pay may vary based on experience, expertise, location, and skills. The total compensation package may include an annual bonus and comprehensive benefits.
