Payroll & Compliance Administrator required in Stellenbosch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process the full payroll cycle using Sage 300 People, including data input, calculations, benefits administration and reporting (9 entities, +- 420 employees)
- Monthly payrolls only, multiple package structures (Cash-up & TCTC & Independent Contractors)
- Coordinate with the wider HR team to ensure all staff changes are processed timeously and correctly on the payroll
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.), and all other external payments like Retirement and Medical Fund etc.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation (Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity, South Africa Revenue Services etc.)
- Annual COID submissions & claims administration
- Ensure high levels of data integrity on the payroll system
- Process and reconcile all inputs received and other employee-related payments
- Prepare and submit monthly statutory returns (EMP201, etc.)
- Prepare data for bi-annual statutory submissions (EMP501, etc.)
- Generate interim tax certificates for provisional taxpayers
- Respond to employee payroll queries and resolve any discrepancies in a timely and professional manner, keeping the Reward & Payroll Manager informed
- Generate and distribute payroll reports as required
- Perform all payroll-related month-end functions
- Monthly benefit fund submissions (Retirement Fund, Medical Aid, employee assistance program)
- UIF administration
- Assist with the preparation for payroll audits, BEE audits and reconciliations
- Assist with Disability claims
- Assist with general administrative tasks related to payroll, benefits, and statutory compliance
- Assist with Payroll projects as needed
- Assist the Reward & Payroll Manager as needed
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
- A functional understanding of South African payroll legislation and regulations
- Experience with retirement fund & medical aid administration
- Experience with COID claims & administration
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all time
