Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attending to queries on leave, hours paid and ETI setup
  • Payroll checking
  • GL Setup
  • Drawing reports and setting up of standard reports

Reports:

  • Prepare monthly / Bi-weekly Roll overs
  • Draw reports from Sage for managers

Excel Knowledge:

  • Know how to do formula setup
  • Setting up of reports (not necessarily charts)
  • New worksheets

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation and processing of the monthly payroll on VIP SAGE 300 People payroll system (this includes the entire cycle of payroll processing from capturing of new employees, leave, terminations, claims, etc.)
  • Correct and timeous payments of salaries
  • Correct payments to third parties
  • Responding to employees’ queries timeously
  • Confidentiality and security of personal information
  • Confirmation of employment
  • UIF19 form administration
  • Administer 3rd party payments and balances owing

Obligations to Employer:

  • Ensure prompt and accurate payment of salaries
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures relevant to salaries and procurement
  • Ensure that the salary administration takes place in such a manner that a healthy and trustworthy relationship will exist between the Company and its employees
  • Monthly reporting to managers, or as needed

Obligations to Operational Department:

  • Monthly receiving of Manpower reports and all applicable admin
  • Timeous distribution of payslips
  • Timeously informing management and employees of applicable payroll information

Training and Development Functions:

  • Correct deductions of Income Tax
  • Allowances and benefits
  • Expenses

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years SAGE experience
  • SAGE 300 People Payroll experience for large groups of employees an advantage (over 200 employees)
  • Advanced excel knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Problem solving

  • Team player
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised (work systematically)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to plan and prioritise
  • Responsibility, dependability and trustworthy
