We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing various payrolls on VIP for all WSP Operating Companies.
This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to differentiate between permanent and contract or fixed-term staff.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : VIP payroll administration and processingManage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timeously whilst ensuring that procedures are in place to provide strong internal controls and ensuring good governance in the payroll.Assist in processing payrolls in South Africa and across Africa to ensure timely and accurate payments, including submitting necessary legislative returns for South Africa, Mozambique, DRC, and Ghana.Stay current on new legislation and regulatory rulings influencing payroll and reporting requirements.
Enforce adherence to these requirements and advise management on necessary actions.Run payroll interface General Ledger, Leave provision, and 3rd party payments.Administer reimbursements to employees, such as credit cards and petrol cards.Balance and reconcile payroll-related payments and deductions to reports produced via the VIP system prior to transmission to validate reports.Prepare accurate and timely reports as required by the Finance and Human Resources Departments.Conduct self-audits on the master payroll schedule.Prepare Bank Control Account reconciliations.Reconcile salary and share bank accounts.Resolve General Ledger queries from Finance.Update all employees' Employment Equity and Skills Development information on the VIP system.Reconcile and submit Employee benefits, managing interfaces with third parties and ensuring records match.Maintain and accurately record Leave data, completing leave reconciliations and advising HR of issues related to excessive sick or unpaid leave.Ensure data integrity and updates of the payroll system.Prepare and distribute IRP5 certificates annually.Administer Medical Aid and Pension Funds.HEALTH AND SAFETYModel SHEQ standards and promote a safe working environment by influencing those around you.Identify SHEQ risks and drive processes to achieve Zero Harm.Promote company values and ensure safety policies are followed.KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS : Client and People orientationAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesHigh professionalismEffective communication across management levelsHandling confidential information sensitivelyQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : Advanced VIP and VIP reporting knowledge, including HRM modules3-5 years full payroll management experience3-5 years experience with Sage VIP People modulesKnowledge of payroll best practices and regulatory requirementsUnderstanding of employer-paid benefits taxationAdditional Information : If you do not meet all criteria, apply anyway; we will assess how your experience aligns with this role and other opportunities within our team.Join our community of talented individuals dedicated to making a positive impact worldwide.
