Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pavement Engineer to join our team. As a Pavement Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining pavements to ensure durability and safety. Your duties will include analyzing data, conducting pavement inspections, developing maintenance plans, and collaborating with engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Designing and implementing pavement projects
  • Developing maintenance plans
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards

Minimum Requirements :

  • A Bachelor's degree (BSc Eng, B Eng, or BTech) in Civil Engineering.

A postgraduate qualification in pavement or transportation engineering will be a strong advantage.

  • Professional registration with ECSA (PrEng or PrTechEng) is mandatory.
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years post-ECSA registration, specifically in :
  • Pavement design (new and rehabilitative),
  • Materials investigation and testing (soils, gravels, asphalt, etc.),
  • Use of mechanistic-empirical design methods (e.g., SATCC, TRH4, or SANRAL design methods),
  • Familiarity with relevant specifications and guidelines (COTO, TRH, SAPEM, SABITA).
  • Proficiency in pavement design software (e.g., Rubicon, mePADS, cncPAVE) will be advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle, as travel to project sites may be required.
