Duties/Pligte

• Receiving hand over from previous shift-patrol officer.
• Checking that all equipment is in working order.
• Conducting foot patrols as tasked by the shift leader.
• Inspecting buildings during first patrol to ensure that all doors and windows are closed.
• Inspecting perimeter fencing for any damages, and reporting it to the control room immediately.
• Checking all parked vehicles on the premises for any break-ins or windows left open.
• Responding to all alarm activations on the alarm detection systems.
• Responding to assist private security officers on posts in case of emergency.
• Assisting with escorting students during night shift on campus when required.
• Assisting at the main entrance with access control when required.
• Assisting staff, students and visitors with directions and authorised access to parkings/buildings.
• Booking in of lost and found property.
• Operating the University vehicle, with prior authorisation, in case of emergency/service delivery requirement.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

• Matric.
• Four years' security experience.
• PSiRA registered: C-grade.
• A valid code 8 driver's licence.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in at least Afrikaans or English.
• No criminal record.
• Willingness to work shifts and to provide additional services from time to time when operationally required.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

• Computer literacy.
• A valid motorcycle licence.
