Job description

We are hiring an experienced Pastry Chef to join the culinary team at a prestigious 5-star lodge in the heart of the Eastern Cape . This is a rare opportunity to work in an exclusive, luxury environment where creativity, precision, and high standards are at the forefront of every guest experience.

As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for designing and preparing a range of exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods that reflect the lodge’s elevated culinary offering. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Executive Chef to ensure consistent quality, innovation, and visual appeal of all sweet offerings for fine dining, high teas, special occasions, and private functions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare a wide range of pastries, desserts, and breads from scratch
  • Design seasonal and daily dessert menus aligned with the lodge’s gourmet standards
  • Ensure immaculate presentation and quality of all pastry items
  • Maintain hygiene and HACCP standards in a professional kitchen setting
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff when required

Requirements :

  • Formal culinary or patisserie qualification
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a 5-star lodge, boutique hotel, or fine dining restaurant
