Job description

WORLD OF SPECIALITY COFFEE Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

This is a full-time on-site role for a Pastry Chef.

The Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods.

Daily tasks include:

  1. Planning and designing pastry menus
  2. Ensuring all food preparation meets high quality standards
  3. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  4. Monitoring ingredient stocks and placing orders as necessary
  5. Hot pass duties

Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in Bakery, Food Preparation, and Baking skills
  2. Strong Cooking and Culinary Skills
  3. Creativity and artistic ability in pastry design
  4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  6. Good communication skills and team collaboration
  7. Experience in a professional kitchen or culinary school training is a plus
  8. Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferable

Salary: R plus, negotiable.

This is for a daily coffee shop with a small amount of pastry items on the menu. The work schedule is 45 hours a week, Monday to Sunday, with 5 days on and 2 days off.

Work Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 06:45 - 16:00
  • Saturday: 06:45 - 14:00
  • Sunday: 07:15 - 14:00
  • Public Holidays: 07:15 - 13:00
