Job description

Job Description: Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Thanks for stopping by.

We know job hunting can be time-consuming, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work: This role is based in South Africa and is currently fully remote. We're open to talent across cities — from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Durban and beyond. At Canva, we trust our Canvanauts to choose where and how they work best, so long as it supports their team and mission.

What you'd be doing in this role: We're looking for an experienced Partnerships Manager to drive our next stage of growth across Africa. The Partnerships Manager will work closely with education and non-education partners to help them understand the benefits of using Canva's tools and resources. Responsibilities include:

  1. Identify high-value partners not yet strategically partnered with Canva, source leads, and close deals.
  2. Own strategy, prospecting, onboarding, execution, and results to contribute to Africa's growth goals.
  3. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, providing technical support, onboarding help, and strategic guidance.
  4. Build structures around partnership plans, including events, frameworks, and playbooks.
  5. Run healthy partnerships focused on customer transformation outcomes.
  6. Manage partnership commercials, lead negotiations, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  7. Establish relationships with educators, learners, and creators to understand their needs.
  8. Utilize data analysis to shape strategies and identify trends.
  9. Test, learn, and iterate on lifecycle strategies in targeted districts.
  10. Act as the main point of contact in partnership conversations, ensuring local execution.
  11. Align partnership activities with Canva's 'Two Step Plan' as a Force For Good.

Qualifications: Experience with the African Education and Non-Education Market, ability to communicate effectively with partners, drive retention, foster engagement, deploy new technologies, and present ideas compellingly. Social media tactics knowledge and eagerness to learn are also important.

About the team: The African Partnership Manager is key to building and maintaining relationships across Africa.

What's in it for you? Achieve big goals, experience moments of magic, connectivity, and fun. Benefits include equity packages, inclusive parental leave, wellbeing allowances, flexible leave, and more.

Other info: We value experience, skills, passion, and cultural fit. Interviews are virtual. Please share pronouns and any adjustments needed during the process. We celebrate diverse skills and backgrounds, so even if your skills don't match exactly, we want to hear from you!
