Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Part-time English Language Instructor in Durban to deliver engaging ESL and general English lessons to adult learners. The role allows a mix of in-person and remote teaching, with a focus on developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.

The ideal candidate has a degree in English or related field, holds TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (desirable), and has prior experience teaching adults in blended settings with strong command of English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or related field.
• TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification is desirable.
• Experience teaching English to adults, preferably in blended learning.
• Excellent command of English and strong grammar knowledge.
• Proficiency with digital tools for remote instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL and General English to adult learners.
• Develop and implement communicative lesson plans focusing on speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Create a positive, interactive learning environment both in person and online.
• Provide constructive feedback on student progress and assign relevant homework.
• Administer and grade language proficiency assessments and placement tests.
