Park Maintenance Laborer - Seasonal
Pay: $16.356 - $20.691 per hour, DOQ
Seasonal/Temporary, Non-Exempt, Not Benefit Eligible

Fall into a fulfilling role within the City of Eagan as a seasonal Park Maintenance Laborer!
We are looking for enthusiastic people from all backgrounds and levels of experience, to maintain and beautify Eagan's Parks this fall season.
No experience necessary, just bring your positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn and grow. Get hands-on experience, training, and all the tools you need to make a difference in our community's green spaces and parks.
Hours of Work
Typical shifts are Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:00am - 3:00pm.
August - November, or as weather allows.
Essential Position Functions
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Duties may include work in the following areas but are not limited to just one.
Mowing Crew: Duties may include operating hand mowers, weed whips, riding mowers, tractors, and leaf blowers.
General Park Maintenance: Duties may include litter removal, shelter/restroom and building maintenance and cleaning
Athletic Field Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of the City’s athletic fields at various parks and athletic complexes. Duties include preparing athletic fields for play, chalking lines, litter removal, and restroom cleaning
Other Position Functions
- Assist other city staff as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age or older by first date of employment
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position under the working conditions described
Things that may help you be successful in this role
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, janitorial work, or light construction
- Commercial driver’s license
WORKING CONDITIONS: 95% field 5% other
Employees are required to work outdoors on uneven ground, while carrying heavy loads or performing maintenance tasks, in all weather conditions experienced in Eagan during the months of April through November. Weather conditions encountered may include heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, wind, etc.
WORK HOURS: Weekday Position: 40 hours per week M-F 7am-3pm
This position is not eligible for benefits.
