Job description

Our client with a national footprint requires a Para-planner.

Qualifications: B Com in finance, accounting, or investment management. A Post Graduate diploma in Financial Planning (CFP) would be beneficial.

Experience Required: Minimum of two years in the Financial Services sector.

Skills: Excellent report writing skills, proficiency in Afrikaans and English (both written and verbal), attention to detail and accuracy, analytical and technical skills, knowledge of investment products and tax.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Windows (advanced Excel skills), building financial models in Excel, and familiarity with tools like Morningstar, Moneymate, Spotlight Investor, Futuresight, and portfolio tools provided by Asset Management Companies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Consolidate and summarize all policies and investments.
  2. Make necessary projections and highlight different tax implications.
  3. Prepare cash flows to ensure income sustainability.
  4. Identify appropriate investment vehicles and structures.
  5. Determine clients' capital and income needs in case of death, disability, severe illness, or retirement.
  6. Analyze and compare local and offshore unit trust funds.
  7. Obtain and provide performance graphs, asset allocation, risk and return scatterplots, risk correlation tables, etc.

People: Liaise closely with stakeholders such as Wealth Planners, Financial Advisors, External Brokers, and Investment Consultants from Life and Asset Management Companies.

Administration:

  • Advise Wealth Planners on investment options and tax implications.
  • Draft reports including cash flow, asset allocations, and annexures per instructions.
  • Assist Wealth Planners post-presentation as needed.
  • Research investment portfolios and performance.
  • Provide product and investment structure recommendations.
  • Track legislation and stay updated on investment solutions.
  • Prepare adhoc risk cover reports if required.
  • Analyze investments such as unit trusts and shares.
