The ideal candidate will provide essential support to our team in various legal matters, including research, document drafting, and case management. The paralegal will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling of our legal matters and delivering outstanding service to our internal clients.

POSITION INFO :

Qualifications and Experience

  • 4+ years experience
  • Fully bilingual in both AFRIKAANS and English
  • Paralegal certificate or degree in Legal Studies is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Paralegal or similar role
  • Experience within an internal Retail and wholesale environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant case-related information
  • Organize and manage case files, documents, and exhibit materials
  • Assist in the management of legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across different departments to gather necessary information and documents
  • Support the team in preparing for meetings, presentations, and corporate transactions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Draft correspondence and maintain accurate and updated case records
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as uploading, organizing, and filing
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers
  • Adhere to deadlines and manage multiple priorities efficiently
