Overview
To ensure efficient and effective support to the Global Markets Legal Department for maximum output in the delivery of legal services and to act as an intermediary between the Global Markets Legal Team and Internal / External contacts. This role includes undertakings such as legal work including preparation of first drafts and initial legal review of standard agreements for Legal Advisors and Legal Heads.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Global Markets Legal Team to understand their function and strategy in a practical and actionable format.
- Collaborate with the Global Markets Legal Team and the business to understand alignment and how the legal process feeds into the broader Global Markets business.
- Take responsibility for the Global Markets Legal databases and systems to facilitate smooth operation and respond to changes.
- Facilitate the development of key systems and databases in response to changing business requirements and regulatory changes.
- Engage with stakeholders in a responsive manner to answer queries and maintain continuous engagement throughout the process.
- Learn the Global Markets legal suite of documentation with a view to producing initial drafts of master documentation and updating agreements with client changes.
- Build professional working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ensure Business Continuity Management is proactively managed.
- Work with the Global Markets Legal Team to prepare for regulatory and legislative changes.
- Ensure regular monitoring and reporting where appropriate.
- Demonstrate pride in the organisation’s brand, services and products by delivering on the brand promise.
- Maintain personal quality and productivity standards and manage workflow, prioritising and delivering within agreed timeframes and quality standards.

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification: Legal bachelor’s degree; preferred qualification may be indicated by employer.
- 5 years’ minimum experience.
- Industry experience: Financial markets / Legal / Banking.
- Versatile, adaptable, self-starter.
