Purpose
- Support management in problem solving, delegation, communication, team motivation, etc.
- Train operators, set strategy, and monitor progress toward departmental goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Report all near misses, first aid incidents, & major incidents, and adhere to all aspects of OSHACT.
- Ensure compliance with ISO / TS16949, ISO14001, and OSHAS 18001 standards.
- Adhere to the company escalation procedures by reporting safety issues, part quality concerns, process, production or maintenance downtime, manning issues, etc., promptly and clearly to the shift in charge or next reporting level.
- Start an hour before shift begins every Monday to verify all process checks (PMR, booth, FoZ, oven, etc.) are completed and documented with signatures.
- Ensure all leave, overtime, and related forms are authorized and submitted for management and HR approval.
- Facilitate stock takes, ensuring parts are correctly counted and labeled with quantity and date.
- Participate and provide regular updates (including photos where possible) on safety, part shortages, downtime, quality issues, etc., via the department WhatsApp group.
- Prepare all necessary consumables, equipment, jigs, etc., to ensure continuous line operation and readiness for the next shift.
- Maintain an updated action sheet for all observed defects per shift to facilitate resolution.
- Focus on the quality of parts loaded into the Paintshop, verifying only good quality raw and rework parts are used, free from dust, flash, fiber, scratch, damage, molding marks, etc., in accordance with the PPC plan.
- Enforce the use of standardized work instructions, including:
- Using WIP trolleys instead of hand carrying parts.
- Following wiping and blowing procedures per work instructions.
Develop or update work instructions for all processes.Conduct job observations.Participate in color harmony meetings and implement resulting actions.Prepare weekly and monthly reports on process, lab, and paint kitchen performance based on KPIs.Achieve 87% FTT by eliminating defects that impact production output.Ensure the elimination of scrapped parts due to defects.Record and rework all defective parts as per the Paintshop rework procedure.Ensure all relevant documents and check sheets are completed neatly, signed, and contain verified, accurate data with correct date and time.Report faulty or dirty jigs to prevent robot damage and ensure jig cleaning and verification are performed regularly.Maintain communication with Jigger, Production planner, Booth operator, Shift in charge, Maintenance, and LAB personnel, and advise on line stoppages related to safety, downtime, or part quality issues.Participate in daily paintshop RBA meetings to discuss scrap control, top parts, top defects, root causes, and countermeasures, sharing data with relevant departments.Attend or lead daily paintshop green area meetings to review planned versus actual performance, quality, production, and maintenance issues from the previous day.Identify and propose initiatives for cost saving, waste reduction, and process and production improvements.Uphold discipline as per the company code of conduct and procedures regarding absenteeism, tardiness, performance, housekeeping (5S), etc.Contribute at least four Kaizens per month.Provide motivation, training, and development in accordance with company procedures.Take on supervisory or other roles and responsibilities as required.
