Job summary

BMW Group SA is seeking a Painted Body Material Planner to manage materials and spare parts for production and plant maintenance in Rosslyn, South Africa. You will set up material schedules, place purchase orders, and ensure uninterrupted supply while optimizing costs.

You will coordinate with production, logistics and suppliers, maintain SAP data, and monitor inventory accuracy. This role emphasizes accuracy, cost awareness, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• 2+ years inventory management experience.
• 2+ years SAP experience (MM/PM).
• 3+ years MS Office skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
• Prefer experience in paint/body shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine required materials and generate purchase orders.
• Ensure materials meet specifications and quality.
• Maintain consistent supply of materials for production/maintenance.
• Coordinate with departments on goals, timelines and payments.
• Track production volume and purchasing trends.
• Schedule delivery of materials, products and rotables.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and distributors.
• Manage inventory discrepancies and audits.
• Prepare cost estimates and performance reports.
• Update material master data in SAP and maintain supplier info.
• Perform cost-saving analyses and general optimisations.
