Job summary

Webrepublic in Cape Town seeks a German-speaking Paid Social Media Trainee to join our international team and gain hands-on experience across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and more. You will learn campaign setup, analytics and reporting while supported by senior consultants.

This six-month traineeship progresses toward a Junior Paid Social Media Consultant role, with training, mentorship and exposure to global clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Management, Data Analytics, Communications or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years experience in any field, with an interest in marketing, business, or data-driven environments
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
• Strong interest in digital marketing, Paid Social Media and performance marketing.
• Numerically and digitally minded, with an interest in working with data and online advertising platforms.
• Basic knowledge of or interest in digital advertising concepts such as CPC, CTR, CPA, conversions and ROAS.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Analytical mindset with an ability to identify basic trends and patterns in data.
• Proactive, organised and eager to learn.
• Highly coachable, with the ability to take feedback and apply it.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, international environment.
• Strong sense of ownership and willingness to take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Valid RSA ID or legal right to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and management of digital advertising campaigns across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and other relevant channels.
• Support campaign planning by researching audiences, channels and targeting opportunities.
• Monitor campaign performance and budgets and flag any issues or unusual performance.
• Learn to work with key Paid Social Media metrics such as CPC, CTR, CPA, conversions and ROAS.
• Assist with campaign optimisation under the guidance of experienced Paid Social Media Consultants.
• Support the implementation and checking of tracking elements such as UTMs and conversion tracking.
• Assist with preparing campaign reports, dashboards and performance summaries.
• Analyse campaign data to identify basic trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Support quality assurance checks to ensure campaigns are set up accurately and correctly.
• Work with international teams and learn how digital campaigns are planned and delivered for global clients.
• Take part in structured training and continuously develop your knowledge of digital advertising platforms and performance marketing.

Over the last decade, Webrepublic has grown from an ambitious startup into Switzerland’s leading digital agency. More recently, Webrepublic has launched a subsidiary in South Africa to work hand-in-hand with our HQ in Switzerland. Our team in Cape Town has grown, and we are now looking for a German-speaking Paid Social Media Trainee to join our Paid Social Media team and develop the next generation of digital media specialists.

As a Paid Social Media Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in Paid Social Media across paid social platforms . From day one, you will be part of an international team, learning directly from experienced specialists in Cape Town and Zurich.

This 6-month traineeship is designed to give you a strong practical foundation in Paid Social Media , campaign management, data analysis and reporting. You will gradually take on more responsibility as your skills develop, with the goal of progressing into a Junior Paid Social Media Consultant role.
